Super Miracle® Bubbles Glow Fusion Hi-Beam Illuminator Bubble Blaster & Bubble Turbine Review

You can tell the weather is warming up here in NY (not so much today though… brrrrr) because my kids are now begging me to go outside ALL the time. J1 and J2  are very much like mommy, not really into the cold weather. We are more Spring, Summer and Fall folks who tend to hibernate in the winter but as soon as the temp warms up and those winter coats come off my boys are ready for some outdoor play! Last week we had a taste of summer with temps reaching into the mid 70s which got us into the mood for the boys favorite past time….bubbles! Read the rest of this entry »

Staples: FREE Duracell Batteries and Hammermill Paper after rewards

FREE Batteries are back at Staples! I ALWAYS snag this deal when it comes around. It seems that almost every toy my boys own requires batteries. I love rechargeable for most of our electronics but have lost so many in the toys I have switched back to regular batteries for now.

I try to do the free ream deals as they come out so I don’t have to store a case unless a 100% back deal comes around and then I will just suffer…LOL.

NOTE: If you use Staples rewards on another item that is producing a reward, the new reward will be reduced by that amount. For example, if you purchase the batteries below for $12.99 using a previous Staples reward of $3.00, you will only get $9.99 in rewards. Just keep that in mind : )

Duracell Batteries, 16 pk $12.99 (exp 3/31)
Receive $12.99 in Easy Rewards, Limit 2
Final Price:  Free

Hammermill CopyPlus Paper, ream $5.99
Receive $5.99 in Easy Rewards, Limit 2
Final Price:  Free

Staples Multipurpose Paper, 10 ream case $48.99

Dance, dance, dance and WIN with Curious George

When I found out that my first son, “J1″ was diagnosed with hypotonia, or low muscle tone, I really did not know what it was or how it would be treated.  Children with low muscle tone often have delayed motor skills, muscle weakness, and/or coordination problems. My son had all of these. He was clumsy, shy and lacked confidence.

As soon as we started his therapy I dove into learning all about his condition and how I can help from home. I was determined to do everything I could to help my son overcome this. I read a ton of information about how children learn through movement because they are active learners. Movement helps them learn about their world. When a child moves over, under, around, through, beside, and near objects and others, they begin to develop a more solid understanding of these concepts. Dancing also promotes creativity and promotes creative problem solving.  Dancing strengthens social and emotional development, helping them communicate with the world around them. One of the most import aspect of dancing (especially for my son)  is fitness. Cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility and body composition are all developed when your child dances. J1 was diagnosed two years ago and I am happy to report that since receiving  both occupational and physical therapy along with lots of muscle building activities, like dancing, my son has come a long way and is a much stronger, confident child.

One of his favorite forms of home “therapy” is dance. This boy loves to dance! He had some pretty groovy moves and will start to dance the second he hears music. My second child “J2″ also has the same issues as “J1″ and is also receiving OT and PT . Fortunately he loves to dance as well so we all dance together . We pretty much dance every day after dinner with daddy. We recently purchased an X-Box with Kinect and have been boogying to dancing games ever since Christmas!

PBS knows how important dance is to children so they have created a super fun contest and they want you to enter! To enter, all you need to do is record a video of your child dancing to the Curious George theme song. The winner will be featured on a Curious George DVD. They might even win a visit from George himself!  A panel of judges will review the video submissions and pick 10 finalists. Enthusiasm, creativity and originality are key! Contest ends April 2nd. Great deals, YES! Bitter OJ, no way! #TropFloridaOJ

You know I love a great bargain, right? Being the deal seeker that I am, I have to be flexible with my brand loyalty with most of my purchases but there are some brands that I will not go without. Orange juice is one of those items. Ever go to a restaurant and try the juice expecting some delicious-ness only to be left with a bitter memory? Blech! Read the rest of this entry »
